I am a novice when it comes to these rifles. What is the Difference between a FAL, G1, G3, Imbel, Austrailian.... etc. etc.... etc.... I see all these different types of rifles and parts kits everywhere. Can somone shed some light on this question? Thanks

Good advice. Go to the FALfiles and read.
Short version:
FALs were built to two major standards: metric and inch.
Inch = Australia, Canada, England
Metric = Belgium, Brazil (Imbel), South Africa, etc.
Mix of features = Indian (unlicensed manufacture)

Different countries use different model designations:
R1 = South Africa
G1 = Germany
L1 = Australia
ETC.

G3 = HK not FAL

It is more complicated than this when it gets to features of individual models and countries. Therefore, research the mentioned forum and check out the FAQ.
