It`s a contract revolver Imported after being decomissioned by the CAI from Canada.
Some will be as new, holster worn,or even shot out/beat up . No help on the serial #.

taurus web-site had a link where you could put in the sn. and it would give the year of mfg. I dont know if they still do or not.

You can do this one of two ways.
http://www.taurususa.com/find-model.cfm Or call Taurus Customer Service number at 1-800-327-3776. Give them the serial number. If the gun is a Interarms or other importer other than Braztech then it is probably before the early 1980s.

The CAI is probably for Century Arms International, and probably the ones who imported the pistol into the US. I have a couple handguns that they imported, mostly CZ's.
