Red-Dot usage, in Colorado ????

One of my hunting buddies gave me a new Ulta-Dot as he said that they are not legal to use in Colorado. I told him that I felt he was misinformed as to it's use. In most Midwest states, the law reads that you cannot use a device that "Casts" a light, such as lazers, for hunting use. Not current on Colorado law so am asking about the restrictions on these devices. How they might pertain to their use on primative and modern weapons. What say Y'all???
I'm happy to accept the Ultra-Dot but not as his expense and/or misunderstanding.

Be Safe !!!
