Bullet Sizer Dies .356 .357 .358

I want to cast bullets for plinking in my 9mm and my 38 should I just buy the .357 sizer die? I'm shooting for fun, not compatition.

I have a 9mm rifle and pistol as well as several 38 revolvers. All modern.

I have been cast bullets for my 45LC for about a year and seems to work great.

You would probably do better to post in the cast section.

You need to slug your barrels and size for each barrel. If you don't and one of them winds up being a bad fit there wont be much you can do to avoid leading.

You might be able to get away with casting and sizing for your largest barrel, it just depends on the difference.

Slugging your guns is the way to know for sure. Most 9 mm do well with .357 diameter cast lead bullets. Though some that have tight chambers will choke on them.

If you shoot anything with a cylinder, a very useful step is to check each of your cylinder throats with the slug you passed through the barrel. If your throats are smaller than the groove diameter of the barrel, you are going to have issues.

If you have not slugged before there are some youtube videos that are helpful. For you 9mil you might be able to melt some soft lead into a used case that still has a spend primer in it. That's what I did with my 45 and it worked out really well. As for the six shooters you might not be so lucky. Use either stick on wheel weights or decoy weights or fishing weights, they are all soft enough to work, but don't use regular clip on weights, they are a little hard.
