Recoil Pad profile?

I put a Boyds sporter stock on my GIBBS QE. Recoil hurts more than the original brass plate so I am looking into a recoil pad.

Are the shapes common among the butt plates? How do I get a recoil pad that will fit without dragging the rifle with me everywhere, never mind ordering over the internet.

You will have to have a smith grind and fit a recoil pad. They are not just bolt on. I guess you can get some bolt ons mow days, but if you want it to look good, haev a smith install one for you.

Pads run about $32.00 and instalation by a good smith is from $35.00 to $65.00
