I have been doing business witrh Midway since they were a reloading components only dealer.

Their customer service has always been truly outstanding.

seems odd to me. I have ordered over 25 orders from them and never had an issue. Shipped USPS and UPS and never a problem. Has never taken more than 3 days to get my orders from the day I place them til they knock on my door.

Because the OP had a problem with an order of reloading supplies he ordered from a reloading supplier. Kind of seems like it belongs here don't you think?

It's interesting to hear all of the different experiences.

My last UPS fiasco happened just a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a book off of Amazon, and they shipped UPS. I've lived in my current house for 2 years and, up until this delivery, every single package has been left on my front porch.

This last delivery, the driver decided, for reasons I cannot fathom, to literally toss the package over the wrought iron fence into the back yard. Where 3 dogs were staring at him through the fence. As you can well imagine, 3 dogs that are bored during the day and suddenly get a cardboard box tossed over the fence have found themselves a new chew toy.

I simply cannot fathom the logic this driver had. 2 Christmases ago we had a significant amount of my daughter's gifts stolen from the local UPS hub. It took several phone calls, but they finally reimbursed us for the cost. I've just not had good luck with them.
I have never had a problem with a UPS delivery. It could be because my wife orders so much from the TV shopping channels that we are almost on a first name basis with all the UPS drivers.

I was wondering the same thing, rants against a retailer should be posted in
"Retail Deals and Feedback" sub-forum.

I just received an order from Midway the other day - started out on UPS with final delivery by USPS. Tracking number in the email was perfectly exact on the delivery date. Worked great and kept shipping costs down.

Seems some folks just like to gripe about anything

The only thing that I cannot understand is the USPS offers,’ if it fits it ships’ for $5.25 and many of my orders do not require huge boxes yet seems the cheapest with Midway is always $9/10.
Those orders don't get picked and the boxes don't get packed, taped and addressed by themselves - and those folks like to get paid also

I posted my experience with the then-new UPS Mail Innovations when I ordered from Optics Planet, and THEY changed the shipping which I had paid from from UPS Ground to UPS MI. Now with most people, this isn't an issue, you can get mail delivered to your address - we don't HAVE direct mail in this 1/2 horse town, so everyone has to drive in to the contract post officer to a PO box. The "closest post office" was decided by UPS to be about 70 miles from me, and the fun began. That package bounced all over the United States for over a month, and never made it to me. Optics Planet gave me nothing but trouble over the whole thing, and will never receive a dime of my money again.

Here's a very simple fix, people. Use ONE STANDARD ADDRESS to order.

Your Name (where it says...)

--in address line 1-- ENTER YOUR STREET ADDRESS

--in address line 2-- ENTER YOUR PO BOX

and then finish the rest like you're a big boy or girl.
You're forgetting one thing, Kemo Sabe - I don't HAVE to when they deliver correctly to the address provided. Second, not everyone has a PO box - I didn't for 40 years.
I recently ran into the exact same problem with T-Mobile - it took 5 p[hone calls of 45 minutes each and 7 people before I got to someone who could fix it - and this was with KNOWING what would happen if they didn't follow directions. They eventually listened.
As for Midway, I have never once had any problems with them - the one time a box came open in flight, as it were, Midway shipped out replacements for the damaged merchandise that day. All of my packages have come in exactly on time to destination...because I use UPS Ground.
USPS may be good for some, but not for me - the contract post offices are the worst, minimum wage employees with a whole lot of access...

I will no longer do business with Midway

Don't bash MidwayUSA, especially for a shipping problem. They have been at the forefront of the fight to protect the 2nd amendment. While the Obama administration was pushing for the assault weapons ban, Cheaper-than-dirt removed the sale of firearms from their website. Meanwhile, MidwayUSA was donating $1 million dollars to the NRA. Needless to say MidwayUSA has earned my respect and future business.

This isn't a Midway problem, it's a Post Office problem. Just go to the Post Office and get your package. I recently had the same thing happen...the Post Office is the one with the box, not Midway.

Ok, I don't get it...

So it's Midway's fault that the post office screwed up?????

UPS Sure Post is MidwayUSA default shipping. I just confirmed that.

So I am a bit puzzled along with several other people.

I placed an order with them on the 10th and they sent me a notice that it shipped on the 13th. Obviously, I haven't received it and just talked to Midway CS and they informed me that an attempt had been made to deliver on the 16th and several notices have been sent to me regarding the inability to deliver by the US Postal Service, of which I've received 0.
My guess is that your email program is blocking mail from Midway's address, possibly UPS, which maintains the tracking system. You should have received paper notices from the postman or in your PO box of attempts to deliver. Any emails blocked are likely still retrievable. Check your webmail page trash and spam folders.

Log into your MidWayUSA account. Most likely, the first page that you see is "Recent Transactions". It shows your recent orders, complete with shipping info and tracking number.

Back in the old days when Midway factored shipping into their price, I used them exclusively. And I bought a lot of stuff from them without a hitch. When they changed their pricing, I left. Now I shop around and I rarely buy from Midway.

The OP just wanted to **** & moan - like my wife does sometimes.

Your frustration is misplaced. You should be mad at the USPS. I will never understand why the gun community places so much faith in the USPS. Money orders that are lost take AT LEAST 90 days to refund..."Delivery Confirmation" is always marked "Delivered" even when it never shows up...and its your word against your postman who absolutely remembers putting the package in your box; despite the fact that it says it was delivered 3 hours before you've ever received any mail in the 10 years you've lived at your address. And those cracker-jack group of G-men who are waiting to vindicate your loss after being scammed on the net?? Yeah..."call your local police and file a report"...not really the "Federal Offense" that everyone believes it is. If you tick the "Mail Innovations" tab, that's clearly YOUR FAULT.

Several years back I ordered a Nikon Scope with signature required. Needless to say I nevermreceived the scope and started the research to find what happened to it. USPS delivered it on the otherside of town to an address nothing like mine. The USPS delivery perosn faked the signature. After weeks of backtracking and going to see the Post Master in person my fustrationcontinued to grow. His first reaction was to ask me if I was aware of the penalty for filing a false claim....through the roof my BP went. I then turned to the Postal Inspector General's Office for investigation. Suprisingly, they took an interest. About 3 weeks later I received a call from the local Post Master wanting to know if I would come by his office. Low and behold when questioned the route carrier confessed to the theft of the scope. Then this ....... ask me if I really wanted to pursue the matter because the route carrier would have to make restitution out of her pocket. (Gave me a hard luck story).

My point here is hold those responsible accoutable, not "publicly flame" a company for a third party performance. What part of the OP is Midways fault?

In February I won an auction for a Luger magazine off Ebay and the post office shows it delivered.

It never came.

Payment $52.79

I am not messing with the post office for that amount.
Best to forget it.
I found Mec-Gar Luger magazines in stock in Canada.
They sent Triple K, a brand I specifically do not want.
I called, and was REALLY NICE about it.
They sent a couple Mec-Gar magazines.

I think in the end, I had about as many magazine as I paid for, and never got my blood pressure up... BP as Glen-Bob calls it.

As I stated, the whole purpose for this thread was for the experienced reloaders like myself that have been ordering from Midway since long before the internet and their exponential growth because of it. Look at what they're now spending on advertising their "good-guy" image with their owner seemingly trying to exploit his status as a veteran, while their competition tends to rely more on word of mouth while spending a small fraction of what Midway does.

The UPS option is what I believe I selected, but as very little in life is absolute, I realize that their software may have caused my selection to default to the combined UPS/USPS option, whatever it's called, why even make it default in the first place unless there's a motivation to profit from it? I did have to make more than one attempt to get my order through and I thought that was because I was using a debit rather than credit card. So, if that were the case, the program defaults automatically to an option I did not want. The least they might consider is forcing you to select the shipping mode again rather than just default to what benefits them the most. And I've also said I'd even be more inclined to use USPS shipping if this was really about saving the customer on shipping charges because they could use Flat Rate shipping for everything but powder and primers and then there would be no hand-off from one shipper to another to further complicate things.

My intent was to warn other reloaders and I knew there would be many that had no issues with them. But I also know that there are those that have, including those that have watched them jacking up shipping rates over the years while it's clear their motivation is purely profiting from shipping as well as sales, or maybe to offset some of their "good-guy" advertising costs. At least with this being debated, even if there was ranting, I've accomplished what I set out to do in the first place. Take it or leave it.

Don't place the blame on Midway, they shipped it fine. The problem is what happened to it when the shippers got it. My opinion, People steal.

I have never had a problem with Midway, but they ought to give a shipping option other than USPS "UNSURE POST"

I'll leave it.

Why not just man up and admit you made a mistake and ranted that it was Midways fault.

Now you just come off as trying to change the issue to something else when even your own post pointed the finger right at you.

Sheesh.

What I find kinda strange is that none of the regimented peanut gallery that trolled my Midway thread until it got locked has posted anything in this one yet... not that you'd necessarily want them to, just sayin'...

Strange isn't it. But I'm sure they'll come-out screaming now. [sarcasm]And all because you're such a poor sport that actually wants what you paid for. Bad Dan. Bad bad Dan. You whinny baby, just shoot those bullets.[sarcasm off]

I typed this on my PC and not my phone. So perhaps I didn't make any spelling errors. [sarcasm]Spelling errors makes whatever a person says incorrect.[/sarcasm off] And people that live in glass houses....

Isn't it just a shame that we, the people spending our hard earned cash, actually expect what we pay for to arrive in the same condition it would be in if we walked into a brick and mortar business and purchased it. I wonder if the naysayers would pick up a spilled box of bullets off the shelf, pay full price for it and say, that's the way business should be done. Funny I never had anyone do that with merchandise I sold. If it wasn't sealed in the original package, scratched or dented they either selected one that was sealed and not dented or scratched or if it was the last one they wanted a discount. Rightfully so. Or they purchased elsewhere. But since we're buying over the internet and it's being shipped UPS we should settle for what we get.
