AK question

How much wobble is acceptable in an AK gas piston? Most of them I have owned have a slight bit, but I have one that is absolutely sloppy. The piston can move almost 1/4 of an inch, it is seated at least 1/16" out of the bolt carrier. It is rubbing rather hard in the gas port. The gun is a new one, so I think I'm going to contact the manufacturer.

Ya that does seem to be a bit much. So what gun did you pick up?
