Bauer .25 ACP: can I fix it?

I recently purchased a nice looking Bauer .25 ACP at Cabelas. It looked to have been well taken care of and was quite clean. When I took it out to shoot it, however, I discovered a couple of major problems. First, it doesn't want to kick out empty casings completely. It doesn't do it all the time, but at least once on every clip. Second, I've had frequent instances where the shell loads, I pull the trigger, and all I get is "click." When I eject the round, I notice that the primer has been only slightly indented.

I'm no gun expert, but it would seem to me perhaps the firing pin spring and perhaps the slide spring (sorry if my terms are incorrect) might need to be replaced. I've got a good source for these parts, but I wanted to ask here if there might be other problems I'm not considering.

If you bought it as a working firearm, take it back to Cabela's. You could try different ammo first though.

Yeah, I may end up having to do that. I was hoping it might be something I could fix easily as I really like it. I already tried two different brands of ammo in it, and they both had the same problem. I suppose that's not a good sign.

I doubt the recoil (slide) spring has anything to do with it not ejecting.
Try a good thorough cleaning. Pay special attention to the firing pin channel. Use Q tips and make sure the channel is completely clean. Then put some light oil, even WD 40, on a Q tip and lightly lube the FP channel. Then wipe that out!
Make sure the breech face where the FP protrudes is not peened outward.
Clean under the extractor, making sure all residue is removed.
I have never seen Bauer springs "go bad."
