Can anyone identify this shotgun?
A very old double-barrel break action shotgun was recently given to me by my father, and it was given to him years and years ago by a friend of his fathers. Neither of us have any idea what it is. The receiver is marked "ranger" on the left side and marked "5000" on the right side. Top of the left barrel reads "Proof tested 12 gauge", top of right barrel reads "Selected forged steel". On both the bottom of the left barrel and the top of the left top side of the receiver it is marked "C14134" Hopefully ill get some pictures up soon. Any help is much appreciated.

volz1911, I'm betting you have a Stevens Model 5000. These were made from about 1931-1941. The name Ranger was a trade name used by Sears during this time. Hope this helps!
