Early H&R Sportsman

I have an early H&R Sportsman 22 long rifle, with a milled Cylinder Catch. I need a new one and can only find the later Cylinder Catch spring. Will this work on this older gun? Please Advise. Kind Regards ttocsej

I believe that came up in an earlier thread and it turned out that the later spring could be trimmed to fit if it didn't fit as-is. Search on the subject and make sure that matches what you're speaking of.

Are you talking about the catch that keeps the Cylinder in place when the Top Break action is opened . If you are , GunParts Corp. has them in stock !

He's talking about the catch that retains the cylinder. You can see it in this pic just forward of the cylinder.

That's for the later model 999 but it should work. Might take a little fitting.
