Do you carry every time you go out?

We hear, every once in awhile, someone say they don't carry unless they think they will be someplace where it is "likely" they will need it. Well, this guy didn't need it until he got back home.

Police say homeowner shot, killed intruder

Ian Demsky; The News Tribune
A Kent homeowner shot and killed a suspected intruder Saturday evening, Kent police reported Sunday.
Police released few details of the incident beyond saying the residents arrived at a home in the 26000 block of 106 Avenue SE at 6 p.m. and found an intruder.

Multiple gunshots were fired and only the intruder was injured. The intruder died at the scene. Police said the identity of the intruder was unknown. No one has been arrested.

carry about 80% of the time. Not practical to carry at work. Usually carry out to public places.

I carry everywhere that I legally can. I rarely enter or leave home unarmed.

Truthfully I almost never carry
My uniform and the work I do makes it very difficult
But there has been a gun in my glovebox for over thirty years

I carry at all times. I have even had friend jest me for carrying to church. But look what happened at that church recently. You never know when something bad may happen where you will have to defend yourself or those around you. I would rather be safe than sorry.

About 50% of the time.
The older I get the more cumbersome it gets.

I have to say "Most of the time" because there are days when I don't.

But one of the big reasons I do carry is simply the return trip into the house. I have always been very much afraid of interrupting a burglary in progress at my house, . . . and would really hate to have that happen and be unarmed also.

Most of the days I "don't" also coincide with days someone is at home all day.

May God bless,
Dwight

+1, and I might wear it around the house, too, so I don't have to "lunge for it". My wife might think it's silly to wear it with sweats, but she might sometimes be in condition white.

as much as I can

I try to carry as much as possible; unfortunately I can't carry to work on a military reservation. Ironic really. But I don't go out for dinner/errands without packing. Likewise with jogging and yardwork.

I used to hate pushing the jogging stroller, until I realized I could ditch the .380 in the belly band for a real gun.

About 2/3 of the time I do, and 2/3 of the time I don't.

Been carrying more since the mall shooting, and the VT massacree.

Mostly when with my family.

I carry when I can, usually out in public. Around the house, I keep a gun close, and when I can't carry, it's in my glovebox.

I always thought that was odd also. The years I spent in the barracks- I swear they even questioned fellers about what their intentions were with tool kits or tool boxes. Granted, I saw a great number of soldiers who had absolutely no business with a firearm- but we all weren't cut of that cloth. It has always been my firm belief that firearms should not be made to seem so (foreign, odd, strange, mysterious, dangerous whatever word fits). That's why there are so many ND's (me thinks)- because some folks are too scared of the thing to use their full faculties of common and safe sense.

As to the thread- I can't think of any place I've gone that I haven't carried.
