Now to choose a stock.

I have narrowed it down to a Savage in .308 win. for bench/target shooting. So my question is now, what are the advantages of the different stock configurations?

McMillan?
Choate?

Is it just the pistol grip or are there more subtile differences in the forearm, balance of the rifle?

Any input on these options would be greatly appreciated.
