Rimfire/Centerfire Pairs List - Revisited,,,

In a recent thread we were listing the different manufacturers/marketers of 1911 pistols in .22 LR,,,

I updated the list of Rimfire/Centerfire pairs I try to maintain,,,
It's been a while so I thought I would post the list again,,,
Maybe there are some new (or old) ones you can add.

These are the pairs I know of:

Astra: Constable in .380 ACP & Constable in .22 LR.

Beretta: Cheetah (84, 85, 86 series) in .380 & Cheetah 87 in .22LR. (I own the 85/87 pair).

Beretta: Model 70 in .32 & Model 71 in .22 LR.

Beretta: Bobcat in .25 ACP/.32 ACP & Bobcat in .22 LR.

Bersa: Thunder .380 & Thunder .22 LR. (I own this pair).

Bersa: Firestorm .380 & Firestorm .22 LR.

Charter Arms: Undercover in .38 Special & Pathfinder in .22 LR (A lady friend owns/loves them both).

Colt: S.A.A. & Colt Peacemaker .22

Colt: New Frontier & Colt New Frontier .22

Colt: Bisley & Colt Bisley .22 (Never a factory offering..but popular conversion in 20's thru 50's)

There is actually a new SP-101 version in .357 that matches the new .22 model. with the adj sights, I've held it.

Smith & Wesson did or does produce the Model 317 which is an 8-shot Airweight .22LR revolver. Not being up on the snubbies and such, I'm not sure which S&W is the similar center fire, but I'm sure someone knows!

You could also make a case for the Taurus Model 94 revolver with one of their center fires, but again the model number of those escape me.

Dan Wesson also made a a rimfire revolver that would likely cross with their center fire wheelguns.

Thanks Venom1956,,,

I looked on the website and the one you mentioned is now pictured there.

I added it with notations to the list.

Thanks again.

Would you consider the Walther PK-380 and P22? Maybe not exactly the same, but awfully close. Both have the same complicated safety setup and look quite similar.

Hello Sevens,,,

I'm doing a bit of research on what might match that S&W Model 317,,,
If I (or anyone else) can identify an exact match I'll happily add it to the list.

As for the Walthers you mentioned,,,
I always intended for this list to be exact matches,,,
Not for any reason but that I seem to have a passion for exact pairs.

Bearing in mind that "exact" is never exactly exact,,,

Single six comes in fixed or adjustable sights to match to blackhawk or vaquero

Beretta Bobcat .22lr, 25acp and 32acp

Also Twisted industries makes a 22lr conversion for the Kel Tec 9mm PF9 and P11

Thanks TennJed,,,

How could I have overlooked the little Taurii and the Berettas?,,,
I must have had a brain fade or a senior moment.

Now about those Rugers.

I was under the impression that the Single-Six and the Blackhawk have different frame sizes,,,
That's why I didn't initially include them in my list.

Was I mistaken?
You Ruger experts help me out here please.

Those Twisted Industries conversion kits look slick,,,
Do you have any personal experience you could share with the forum folk?

I have a friend who has a PF-9,,,
I'll bet he would be interested in this kit.

Indeed they do, and by your criteria, wouldn't make your list.
However... the good news is that Ruger has made Single Six revolvers in .32 H&R Magnum-- so you could enter those in to your list.

Thanks glenncal1,,,

That's a very nice looking pair my friend,,,
I was unaware of anything that exactly matched the 617.

Every time I post this,,,
People find more that I can list.

Thanks my friend.

I was not thinking about the frame size being different on the single six. You are correct

Great list....this should be pinned to the top.....

On the Blackhawk/Vaqueros/Single Six issue.....with the new medium-size frame on the BH & VQ, the difference b/t it and the SS frame is virtually imperceptable. I think it should be close enough for gov't work.....

Funny thing about the 17-6 is that it was a transitional year... many (most?) of the dash-6 revolvers are full lug, like the one pictured. The early 17-6 revolvers are no lug, like the one I own... which looks like all the K-22's we all know and love.

The 16-4 was the only dash number of the 16's that was full lug, I believe. Poster Hammer It likely knows that better than most on this forum, he's got a phenomenally gorgeous handful of original, pristine S&W revolvers, mostly K-frames, I think.

Hello again Sevens,,,

Thanks for adding the info on the -4 and the full lug,,,
I added that little caveat to the listing.

Hello rodfac,,,

I would like to take full credit,,,
But in reality I only started the list.

Many good folk from here have researched and added to it,,,
Now, I'm only the maintenance man for the list.

I repost it on the board every 3-4 months,,,
Someone always comes up with another pair or two to add.

It's a community effort.

Sevens is correct- there were some 17-6's that were not full lug but the do have the "bull" barrel like the 17-5 that I own (this applies to 4" versions). The 16-4 were the only k frame .32's with the full lug. Previous Model 16's (and pre 16s) were of the regular Masterpiece configuration. There are some known examples of 4" K-32's, very rare, very $$$$$. Would love to have one.
