Video - Cleaning black powder cowboy guns
On my YouTube channel I've had a few requests to show how I clean black powder guns. This three part series shows my techniques.
I'm not saying this is the only way to clean black powder guns, nor am I saying it's the best way. All I'm saying is that it is my way. And this year marks my 40th year shooting B-P. This works for me. Part 1: Cleaning products & shotgun cleaning Part 2; Rifle cleaning Part 3: Revolver cleaning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzoGTazw2jg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtmvYYDemxk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTh_97xRyc8 |

I really appreciate these videos. While you have 45 years BP
experience with cleaning I have just a few with a muzzleloader and now single action Colt. I've learned quite abit plus some of my techniques are reinforced since you use them-- I'll stick with them. I'm particularly pleased that my Ballistol obsession is consistent with yours. The Ballistol to water ratio is new to me-- I'll begin to use it It looks less expensive compared to using 100% Ballistol. About a year ago I began using Ballistol to the exterior of my firearms, BP or not, and found that it yielded a deeper looking blue-- I liked it so have continued to use it from time to time. The Ballistol pretties up the blue on decades old firearms. Well, thanks for the videos. .02 David |

David,
Thanks for the feedback. I'll be doing some muzzleloading videos later this Fall, and I'll probably do a cleaning video for them. My muzzleloader cleaning technique is different. |

Yep, I like the Balistol product as well. It's all I've been using (plus water) for the last 4-5 years. Been shooting BP MLs for >30yrs. Thanks Mike.
