Firing pin spring problem

The firing pin on my Taurus 605 seems to have a problem with the spring. The pin will protrude out of the frame if I tilt the gun forward.
I took it apart to the point I removed the retaining pin for the firing pin, but it won't come out. Don't want to be forcing things, so I haven't been getting too aggressive about it. It seems like it should just drop out when I tilt it back.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Tuckerdog1

IIRC, that firing pin uses a cross-pin retainer, not a bushing, so the pin should come out when the cross pin is removed.

If the spring is broken, it may be jamming the pin in place. Try using a long rod (piece of coat hanger, or a piece of spring wire) inserted down the barrel and into the firing pin hole. Make sure it is small enough not to enlarge the hole. Then just push or tap it and see if the firing pin comes out.
