Bar attack
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...dom-AK-47.html
Fortunately the BG was not too bright though he's still at large .I wonder what would have happened if the BG had gotten into the bar .Note that the video shows one of the patrons had a pistol and drew it . You never know when or where !

The one smart person I saw in the video was the bartender who quickly hit the floor and crawled for cover. The dude who drew the pistol was standing full target to the threat. Not too smart...

This might make an interesting law school Criminal Law question. Given this set of facts, what charges could be brought against people in New York.

Yikes, hit the deck and try not to spill my beer. If he entered and continued firing, then i might consider returning fire - however, if I were in an Ohio bar and carrying, I would not be drinking.

Yeah...hit the floor first, THEN get your gun out if you must. It's not tactically sound to stand there while a guy with an AK is blazing away. The video said it happened in Philly. Is CCW in a bar legal there? One thing about the video that I thought was interesting was when he began shooting at the door there were sparks flying. I thought that only happened in the movies. |

?
With video backup and eye witness testimony, I think any CCW who engaged this guy would have come out okay from a legal point of view. The problem with bars is that it's a wet environment, most fights start over women or some minor social offense and often, the shooter and shootee know each other. These are the basic ingredients for an eventual conviction.

Scary stuff. I don't carry when consuming alcohol at a bar. That said i dont go to bars much anymore. Not long ago a Baltimore city police officer was at a bar off duty and got into an altercation with someone. He then emptied his glock 22 on the person he was arguing with and now that LEO is in jail.
