Remington vs. Browning
Hello Everyone,
I am looking at getting a new rifle chambered in 25-06 for next season. I was was looking at a Remington 700 or a Browning X-bolt. I would appreciate any opinions on either rifle. Also looking at getting a Savage 93R17 chambered in 17 HMR or a Savage Mark II chambered in 17 Mach 2. What do you think? DRL |

If you get one with a BOSS, I'd go Browning. I don't care for the X-bolt, but my brother in laws A bolt with BOSS is unbelievably accurate. I've bragged on all my Remingtons accuracy over the years, but they won't shoot with his BOSS A-bolt. .5 MOA with a few twists and factory ammo is VERY impressive to me.
I'll leave the 17 debate to others who know more about it than me. |

The X-Bolt would be my choice if I were right handed. They don't have a lefty version & the right handed palm swell isn't comfortable for a left handed shooter. But, I am impressed by the X-Bolt. But with a 25-06, I'd want a 24" barrel to burn all that powder in. Weatherby Vanguard has those.
