VZ Grips for my 1911
I am getting ready to order some VZ grips for my Colt 1911 Stainless Government model. I think I am going to get the Operators II or Alien design. Trying to decide what color to get.
What color would look good with stainless in your view https://vzgrips.com/pistol-grips/1911/operators-ii

I’ve always felt that darker grips look best on stainless guns, so I’d probably go with the black. However, I think just to change things up a little I might also consider the Black/Blue.

I think the carbon fiber black blue would look great. They're a little bit more, but it's easy to spend other people's money.

Of the VZ grips I owned in the past, I really like the black cherry.

The OD or Dark Green grips look excellent on a stainless 1911.

Operator II, Carbon Fire White. That's because I have them on one of my stainless 1911s. Look great IMO.

I agree that darker colors normally look better on stainless -- the black, black-blue, or black-gray G10s. I have a set of Operator grips in desert sand (on a dark pistol). They are very aggressive grips.

Anything dark does look good on stainless. Black cherry looks good, I've had that setup before, and black doesn't look bad either or one of the black-grays or whatever combinations they have. Hyena brown looks good too.
Operator II's are my favorite VZ grip. |

It's official, Black-Grey Operator II
OK, I've made up my mind, it's Black-Grey Operator II
I have a question about the profile. I'm at work (I love doing this stuff while I'm at work) so I don't have my gun with me to look. It's a Colt XSE Stainless Government model. Is beveled bottom just a preference or do you have to get it beveled or non-beveled depending on the gun. Just from memory, it seems to me that currently, the gun does not have a beveled bottom grip. Does that mean I have to stick with non-beveled. I don't have a magwell, so that option is out and I know the bottom is not rounded or bobtail. Thanks for all the advice

I believe in your case, either the beveled or non-beveled would be fine -- personal preference.

I just placed the order. I ordered the Operator instead of Operator II. I was going to get the Operator II but you have to choose thumb notch or super scoop mag release, none is not an option like it is on the Operator. I ordered black-grey, should look good on my stainless 1911. Not sure if I'm going to put them on the Colt or Springfield, they are both stainless government models.
Thanks for all the suggestions
