Using Shot to cast bullets

Have any of you used shot for casting bullets. I have several bags of #8 shot that I don't need.

Sell them to a shotgun reloader for more money then buy some bullets

Right now, factory magnum shot like Lawrence or West Coast is $40+ per bag

A friend had several hundred pounds of shot from a defunct store.
He loaded the #8 and #9 for Skeet and cast with the large sizes.
It made fine bullets. He added 2% tin for better casting.

You might check with any trapshooters there, they might pay more for #8 than the price of 92-6-2.

I use reclaimed shot to tweak some bullet alloys, but you won't catch me casting bullets straight from commercial shot. It's more valuable in its original form.

Shot can also be used to 'enhance' some casting alloys by adding antimony and arsenic, both will harden a softer alloy, especially if water quenched or heat treated.
