Do an internet search with some browsers for one and for a M51 stock which is the same except it has checkering.

Sites like Gunbroker, Guns American, action arms, etc may have one.

If you just want a stock, since the rifle's basically a Large Ring Mauser 98 Sporter, a stock for it can be had all over the web - from Cabela's to great American Gunstocks, and from a stock that's just about a drop-in, to one that'll need to be fitted & finished.

A Mauser 98 stock should fit with one warning: Since the trigger on a Model 50 is in the trigger guard, it is essential that the spacing between the receiver and the trigger guard be exactly the same as the original stock.

If you can't accomplish this, just get a replacement 98 trigger w/o a safety and proceed.

Girls generally don't like guns as presents, but I have seen guys young and handsome enough that they get away with it.

Good thing my GF is who she is. She got a Colt Defender .45 ACP for her birthday last year and loves it.
