Exactly what is "The Firing Line"? Yeah, I know, it's an online firearms forum -- I've posted over 400 posts here already and spend a majority of my internet time on your site but exactly WHAT IS IT? Do you guys have a building that the Moderators & Administrators work out of (if so, where are you located -- just a city or state please) or do they (the moderators & administrators) logon and work remotely?

There's no cost to register & post topics but I don't recall seeing any internet ads either. So, how do you cover your expenses and turn a profit ... or do you just do it for the love of guns and those who share similar beliefs.

I've been curious about these things for a while especially every once in a while when I see references to TFL events and stuff.

In any case, THANKS FOR BEING HERE. Fud

FUD - good question.
All in one building? GAWD what a RIOT that would be!!!
RICH - think about that for a sec would ya? Can you imagine the work place enviroment?

Kidding.

No - we are scattered all across the nation.
Rich owns the server which is in a highly classified secured location some place in Florida:
1909 West Jensen Ave Suite 201, Jacksonville.
Second floor, 3rd door on the right, in the far right corner...
Rich owns it and pays all the fees out of his pocket. This is his home and we - even the staff - are guests in his house. Nice house, and Rich is generous - just a few simple rules and we all get along... Like DONT DRINK OUT OF THE CARTON!

TFL is either:
A web site on a server somewhere, kinda like the files on your own computer, only different in that people from all over the world can read them,

OR

A total of 5 different people, that have nothing better to do than to invent 5000+ different personas and sit around all day and write ficticious topics.

No internet ad banners, no annoying flashing links, no neon pink backgrounds, not too many pictures. It's all about quality content. It's on a dedicated server so it loads fast, and it costs members nothing. We have industry leaders, certified trainers, police, military, newbies, and everything in between; even a curmudgeon or two. Members are located all across the planet and can share ideas, opinions, experiences, successes, failures, and even jokes.

It's really an amazing place if you think about it...

And thats what makes it so amazing. If Rich really lives in JAX, we need to get together. I live in Orange Park.

Wait a minute!
Why then has Dennis been telling me to send those monthly dues to that PO# address in Texas?
So there's not a lengthy initiation process after all...

All!

Pay no attention to Foxfire! Foxfire is mistaken, it never happened. There may have been a slight administrative error by a member of my Staff. But we know of NO missing files! Not even those which will soon be discovered on that table in the hallway!

Let me make one thing perfectly clear. I *never* had "dues" from that Member, Foxfire.

There is NO stain on my administration!

A long time ago there was a statement somewhere which held that TFL was a website community whose members were bound together by a common interest - firearms - and moderated by a confederation of individuals who, with their exceptional knowledge of firearms or expertise within a certain area, were invited to become unpaid staff. Said moderators and administrators are, like TFL members, scattered far and wide throughout the land and many have never seen each other before. However, there seems to be a concentration of TFL staff near and about Georgia and California.

Ummm, Mykl. You have to remember, okay?
This has been a non-union shop since FDR beat Rich at golf. Remember? Remember how angry Rich was that "some Socialist cripple" kept lying about his score and "misplacing" his putt markers?

Remember?
