SBR In North Carolina.

So im pretty sure from what I have read they are legal here, question is, I plan on making a SIG 556 Pistol into a SBR, has anybody gone through the process out here? Im in Davidson County, if anybody has, did it go pretty smooth for you with getting the CLEO sig and what not? Thanks in advance.
