Spent Primers
Well another beginners question. I have been reloading a lot lately and have a lot of used primers. Can they just be disguarded in the normal household trash? Up until now I have just been dumping them in a plastic container.

You probably can do that. Since you have been saving them already you might consider another option. You can recycle them as brass. Recycle companies will pay you for your brass. You can also put in brass that is cracked or damaged as well to add to the weight. When you have several pounds it may be time to get rid of it and get paid for doing so.

Around here scrap brass is about $1.85/lb. If you reload very much it will not take very long to accumulate a pound of spent primers. As far as I know all American made primers are brass, some are nickle plated.

As the post above says primer cups are brass, the anvil disks are brass also. Throw them in your brass salvage container. What! you do not have one?!

Shotshell primers sell as scrap steel as they have very little brass in them.

Advertise them on Gunbroker as once fired primers. With all of the craziness going on you will probably get a number of offers.
