Handled A Coonan Arms .357 Today. Surprised It Was On The Shelf.

Today, on this icy day, I stopped by a couple of gun shops to drool over things I can't buy as I usually do on my days off. I asked the owners of one of the shops if he had ever received the Coonan Arms gun that he ordered. He said that he had ordered two and got both in today. He had one sold before it had ever arrived but the other one wasn't spoken for, so, he let me look at it. I was surprised that it wasn't as heavy and club-like as I thought it would be. He hadn't priced it yet but he thought it would be around $1,600. Too much for me for nothing more than a range toy, though.

As difficult as it is to find a Ruger MK III, I came across this. I wonder how long it will last.

I have always liked them. $1600 does not seem too bad a price.

Oh, I think it's priced about right. I just couldn't justify spending that much.

I paid $1600.00 for my Coonan originally. It came with the standard 5 inch barrel, normal wood grips and 4 mags. That was in Feb 2011.

I have put more money in to it recently.

It is a very fun gun. Of any gun I own I probably shoot it the most.

I do carry it in a shoulder rig frequently.

all 26 of my guns are 45/70 govt, 357 mag, 22 or 12 ga... I believe in keeping it simple. Wish my wife did as well...

I've been hoping for about two years that I don't come across one, or I'll be tempted to buy it.

Lucky so far.

I am not a huge fan of the .357 round but those are NICE guns. I almost bought one but decided I needed other guns more.
