Supposedly in 1931 the US Dept of Agriculture published a recipe for Starling Pie in the hopes of controlling or eradicating them … it didn’t catch on.
   Sorry, couldn’t find the recipe.

Found this ..............
"Fry some chopped turnips and carrots. Add a little stock and a glass of red wine. Place some starlings or other small birds in the pan. Add a thin purée of boiled potatoes mashed with beaten eggs, dry mustard, and some stock and a little beer. Cover with stock and cook for about 30 minutes, adding some ripe olives near the end." |

Starlings
Having been a Brit Paratrooper for a fair while I cant tell you that I've eating more than my far share of wildlife including Starlings and Penguins! Shoot them on sight as they out compete your local birds for nests. Look you can eat them, but really a can of beans is a better option, you'll only pass wind for half a day!
