I shoot at a public range which is owned and operated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and charges no fee. This range has 15, 30, 50, 100, and 200 yard stations as well as a skeet range.

I live in the midwest, and I pay $90 per year for a 100 yard outdoor range. It has 25, 50, and 100 yard gongs, and a shotgun sports station. It costs an additional $5 to bring a guest.

Camp Allen Weapons Range in Norfolk, Virginia. $90/year, and I've brought as many as three guests at a time for no additional fees. It's a pistol/rifle range, but the maximum distance is 25 yards. Nice automated target deployment/retrieval system, too. Plus, they sell fired brass for $3/pound, and you can pick through the barrels for the calibers you want. It's actually cheaper than that if you buy a five-gallon bucket (about 60 pounds), since they only charge $100 for the bucketful.

The last membership I paid for was $180/yr for a 50ft indoor pistol range(SoCal). Included a free rentals, 10% off ammo and the ability to reserve a lane in advance.
Now its about $4, for the gas to get out to the desert and back ![]() I think the local county range is $7/day. Not sure what the two big gun club ranges charge for membership. There are also a ton of indoor ranges. Not sure what they charge as a lot of them cater to tourists looking to have some full auto fun. @Armoredman, I wish the patch of desert I shoot in looked that nice! |

I used to be a member at Bass Pro. It was $75 a year or $10 a session. Then the Great Panic of '08 hit and they raised the fee to $150 a year. Trouble is you can't ever get in because there are classes there all of the time. It's five old lanes and the ventilation is horrible. You would think they could afford to update this area since they spend countless millions of dollars adding faux rocks and lots of taxidermy throughout the store.

My indoor air conditioned 3x8 lanes range is $400 per year, $20 per visit all day. As a Founding Member my rate is $350 good for 4 years. Another range down the street is $375 per year, and $19 per visit and it is not air conditioned. There are some smaller ranges around town that cost less and are not clean at all. A good thing about a yearly membership is I go to the head of the line when I arrive. My range has more than 2300 annual members.
