Lawrence Shotgun?

One of my cowrkers recently came into possession of a sxs 12 gauge shotgun that belonged to his father-in-law. It is at least fifty years old and was manufactured by a company named Lawrence. Anybody able to tell me anything about the company or its wares' potential value?

Harley's forum here has some experts that can just about tell what day of the week it was made.

Note, lots of old shotguns of dubious quality are around. Most are not valuable, and some are dangerous. Have a gunsmith look it over before firing....
