The 311 wasn't available with ejectors, it was an extractor gun only, and I believe they all had fixed chokes..JFC

Fixed chokes and no ejectors. Fine shooting guns, very solid and dependable.

Check on the CAS sites. A lot of information out there. 311's are used quite extensively in cowboy 3 gun as they are a good beginner DB and, if a common grade, no one has conniptions if you cut the barrels down.

It sounds like you want to make the choke tighter for turkey, That cant be done (except possibly jug choking, which is another story). If you get a 311 with 28" barrels, it will be choked Full and Modified and a 30" barrell will likely be both full chokes. Either on fine for turkey. Your only oter option is to install thin wall chokes, and that will likely cost more than the gun is worth.. JFC

Mine's not exactly a 311 its a 5100 Springfield. It's the forerunner to the 311. It's a 20 gauge with 26 inch barrels choked full and extra full. Most of my doubles are choked this way.

how easy is it to switch out chokes, or do you even need to? will a full or modified take turkeys and quails/doves/ducks/skeetshoot?

You don't switch out chokes on a 311, the barrels are choked at the factory. I like a full for bout everything. Some folks like a modified for birds.
