Cci Primers???

Hi everyone, I've been reloading handgun bullets for about a year now and just started to load for my AR. All my cases are Remington 223, I'm using
H335 powder and 55gr. Winchester heads. Now for primers I picked up
"CCI No. 41 primers for 5.56 Ammunition". Has anyone used these primers in 223 shells. Or am I safer getting rid of them and picking up Winchester or Federal small rifle primers. thanks for your help

I have not used those, but I've used their cousins, the CCI 250 Small Rifle Magnum primers. Speer recommends the magnum primers with H335 powder.

I believe the primers you have are milspec, meaning they're a little harder, and more resistant to slamfires. Which I wouldn't worry about with an AR, anyway.

Have also used Winchester WSR primers, and like them, too. Have not tried Federal.

To answer your question, no need to toss those. I just think you'll get slightly better results next time with CCI 250s or WSRs, just because Speer recommends the magnum primers with that powder. They should give you slightly more consistent ignition (according to Speer's marketing materials.)

Others, feel free to correct me.

Thank you both for the help. I'll load 50 and see how they go.

They are mil spec and they're all I use in my ARs and 5.56 AKs. I load them with bulk WC844 powder which is supposed to be similar to H335.

I use the CCI 41 in all my 223. No problems, CCI states that they are magnum primers.
