Where to buy Winchester WAA12 wads?
I'm looking to find the real deal, not an equivalent for loading Lyman slugs.
Any ideas where I can look? |

Ballistic Products lists them. Bass Pro Shops in my area carries them.

I do not load slugs, but I am not sure why the CB-1118 would not work just as well for you. I have loaded thousands of 1 1/8 trap loads with Claybuster wads using WAA12 data.

The CB-1118 has vertical ribs in each petal. If that is all I can get, I will start testing with those I pushed them down my barrel and they are tighter. I'll be that means I will rip more petals off which may cause accuracy woes.....but yes, if I cannot score WAA12's soon, I will be looking to try other wads.
Anybody know how the WT-12's are different? |

It's exactly the same thing, mechanically and dimensionally.
The difference is.... recycled plastic. WAA12 is made with virgin plastic. WT12 is made with recycled plastic. Some shooters claim that the WT12 doesn't perform as well in cold weather. Otherwise, they're 100% interchangeable.

Man that seems to be the most popular wad I see that you are looking for. I mean, where ever wads are sold, I see Win 12AA.

Ok, I see how the ribs in the petals could possibly mess up a slug in the CB-1118. Honestly, I never noticed the ribs before.
WT-12, at least the half dozen in the back of my wad cabinet, have no vertical ribs in the petals. Downrange manufacturing makes a bronze DRA12, WAA12 clone that is real good, I do not use them personally because the Claybusters are cheaper here. The photo does not show any ribs. You could call Downrange to verify no ribs, they are nice guys.
