Tennessee hunting laws changed?

Hello.

Today while I was in the gunshop, one of the guys said that Tennessee has allowed the use of all centerfire calibers for hunting deer this year. The guy is pretty trustworthy, but his source may not be, so I am asking here.

Can anyone back this statement up?

Thanks!

LEGAL WEAPONS

Rifles, except those utilizing an artificial light capable of locating wildlife, using center-fire ammunition of .24 caliber (6 mm) or larger, in all counties except where regulated by legislative acts.

So it looks like you will have to check your county.

The state changed the 0.24 caliber requirement this year. Now the law reads something to the order of "any centerfire rifle". Handgun changed to any centerfire also with barrel length of 4" or longer. This information is included in the "changes to the law section"; page 1.
