Factory loads
Are factory loads such as Speer, Win or Federal on the high side or do they run lower in powder charge?
Granted it is a standard 180gr bullet across the board. Just curious . Thanks |

For most of the old standby guns, Factory loads will be pretty mild in general because they have to be safe to fire in an 80 year old rifle. The only one I've checked in a newer cartridge was a Federal Fusion 270 WSM in 150 gr. The load was 70 grains even of Accurate Mag Pro, and that load is right at the high limit in data from AA. The newer "light magnums" like say a 30.06 are that way too. They include a warning about shooting in old firearms. I only checked that one out of curiosity as all handloads need to be worked up, I suggest that the high limit be approached carefully.
