I haven't reloaded anything for this revolver yet as I was given it prior to my Dad's passing..Now, i'd like to reload for it and use it.Only powder I have for pistol reloading is Unique.I have found no data for this bullet and powder combo......any help? I'd like to reload for .38 spl. .38 +P, and for .357 mag....thanks...Rick

Use the data for the 158 grain XTP. It will be a smidge light, but safe.
Unique is a good all around powder, you won't get full magnum performance but they won't be weak either. |

Lymans's reloading manual for pistol and revolver (2nd ed) does have Unique data for .357 with a 140 jhp:
4" vented test barrel 1.590 COAL Start -- 7.0 Vel--949 Max -- 8.9 Vel--1233 |

From my new .38 Spl "all in 1" book, quoting from the Hornady section they give the following info for Unique, 140 gr XTP JHP in .38 Spl, 4" barrel:
Start: 4.2 gr -- 750 fps 4.7 gr -- 800 fps 5.2 gr -- 850 fps Max: 5.8 gr -- 900 fps They don't cite pressures in the Hornady section, and they don't say whether the max is +p. The Sierra section starts their 140 JHP Unique load (6" barrel) at 5.6 gr -- 850 fps and their max is 6.4 gr -- 1000 fps. Again, they don't specify the pressures or if the max is +p. The Speer section does not have a "standard" listing for 140 gr JHP's, but they do have a +p section: 6 in barrel, 5.0 gr -- 902 fps and 5.3 gr -- 960 fps. No indication of the pressures other than +p. It looks to me like the Sierra loads are across the board QUITE hot, not just their 140 gr JHP's, even then you shouldn't have a problem with those in a .357 mag which is designed to handle even hotter stuff. Appropriate disclaimer -- even though I got this info from real manufacturers' load books (extracted), use at your own risk.
