Encore Barrel Length
I've just purchased a new 22-250, 26", SS, Heavy barrel for my Encore and now in second thought, I hate when I do that..., I'm wondering if I should have purchased the longer Pro Hunter barrel in the same.
My thinking is that with all the powder flash I've seen from 22-250's, could I use that extra 2" and take advantage of that excess powder burn to push that pill a bit faster? Not that it needs more speed. I'm planning on using this barrel for varmints. Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

26" will be fine for the 22-150. Most bolt guns are 22-24" in length. You will be able to maximize the powder burn and it will keep the barrel from whipping and throwing off accuracy. You did good sleep well

Thanks. I really wanted to avoid the 28" length and I don't feel the fluted barrel offers any benefit for my shooting goals and methods.
Now I need to zero in on some new glass. Merry Christmas to me!!!
