PCR...which one, what caliber.
Looks like OH is getting PCR's for a legal weapon during gun season. Good excuse to purchase my first PCR. I am leaning towards 44mag or 45/70. I reload and 44mag is in the lead as I can also buy a revolver (planned to anyway) and load for both. 45/70 is intriguing and like the ballistics and the boom.
What platforms do you recommend? Any negatives for each of the above calibers? |

If I were in your shoes I would go with the 44 mag. In a lever gun. Possibly 454. I would check the rules when the new regulations come about. 45/70 is considered a centerfire rifle cartridge by most.

No other input?
From looking the Ruger 77/44 and Marlin or Rossi levers are looking like a good choice. |

I'm assuming that a PCR is a pistol caliber rifle.
I like the Marlin 1894 series. Mine is in .357 magnum, but .44 magnum would be nice too. Don't overlook the single-shot carbines, like the Handi, or the T/C. They're great little rifles, good deer-getters, and very handy. I have no experience with the Ruger bolts, but I understand that they are very nice rifles as well. |
