Tumbler noise levels?

It looks like I'm full of questions right now, thank you all for your patience.
So, just how loud is a case tumbler? I'm considering a Lyman Turbo 1200 with Auto-Flo right now. I would run it in the floor of my garage when cleaning btw.

Its loudness level is medium.

I run a cabelas tumbler in the garage. If the kids stop yelling I can hear a vibration coming from the garage. But if I don't listen for it I quickly forget it is there.

Mine isn't that noisy. I run mine in the garage floor, come into a short hallway and into a den and with the garage door shut you can't hear it in the rest of the house. You don't hear it in the rooms above the garage either. In fact if you forget that you have it running you can go to bed and leave it on all night if not careful. However if you enter the garage as my wife does on occasion the noise will startle her. With an extremely full hopper of brass it makes a little more noise with the brass vibrating against the plastic top.

Ok, that doesn't sound bad at all.
How long for a cleaning cycle? I guess it depends on how many rounds in the tumbler right? Even caliber/case type, level of burnt powder residue?

It seems to depends a lot on how dirty your media is (I keep reusing mine).

But I typically throw it in there for 2 hours and it seems to work.

My Turbo Pro is loud. I put a cardboard box over it. A couple of hours cleans any case I've ever put in it though. No polish. Brass needs to be clean not shiny.
When the media needs replacing, go to a pet supply shop. They sell crushed corn cobs and/or crushed walnut shells as small pet bedding by the 50 pound or so bag. It's usually less than $20.
Midway wants $18.99 for 18 pounds of walnut shells. $21.99 for 15 lbs of corn cobs. Plus shipping.

I had a Frankford :barf: it was loud and then quit working

I was able to return it, and upgraded to a Hornady

its much quieter.

I have one I bought from Midway. It's actually the Midway brand. It's fairly quiet and works great. Just put it on something fairly soft and put a cardboard box over it and it'll make any brand more quiet. Like others have said though, set a timer or you'll forget it's there.

A cardboard box is a great idea, since it will cut down on the lead dust in the air. I'm going to do that.

My large Dillon vibrator is in an insulated building about 300 yards from the main house. In the winter with both buildings closed up, I cannot hear the vibrator at all from the main house. The cattle and horses in the main pastures don't seem to be disturbed either.
