Anschutz bolt advances
What to do about an Anschutz .22cal bolt action rifle whose bolt sometimes advances to the fired position when chambering a round ?
The gun was made by Anschutz as stamped on the left side of the receiver but has a CIL 125 stamp on it so I'm not sure of the Anschutz model #. The stock appears to be of beech and the gun is rather plain though it shoots well. Anybody heard of this happening before? |

Do you mean
the striker goes forward when chambering? As in fires on chambering? Then check sear and nose on firing pin.
Or, if it's a cock-on-closing action, does it close without cocking? Then check sear and nose on pin, they're not engaging. Can be a trigger problem, like a return spring being weak and failing to push sear fully up as bolt passes over. Just my guesses.
