bought an M41B sniper...
... mixed feelings thus far.
the receiver, bolt, and scope rail(not mount or scope included) serials all match, everything else does not. the rifle itself is a 1900 Carl Gustaf. stock is a beech replacement with a dark surface stain. all in all I have mixed feelings on it. on one hand it mixes the feel in hand of the springfield(my favorite american made service rifle) and the crisp cock on close action that I assosiate with the Arisaka and enfield(my favorite foreign service rifles). on the other hand it's a lot heavier and longer than I was anticipating and the mixed parts has me seriously bummed as a collector. I hope after I put some rounds down range I will be impressed but until then I just don't know what I think about it... I bought a bunch of wood projectile training ammo and pulled a number and loaded with standard soft points for cheap plinking ammo(about 35 cents a round total) so hopefully I will be able to see how she does this weekend.

I'm jealous.
I put together an M41 clone for NRA vintage sniper comp, but the cost of an AJACK 4x90 scope is prohibitive so I'm using a Weaver K4 as an authorized substitution. Get a box of 140gr Nosler Custom Comp bullets to test the accuracy of your rifle, I think you'll be very happy with it. Jimro

I don't shoot NRA and I learned my lesson while trying to restore my 1903A4... snipers are expensive and constantly cost more dollars. this rifle will be for iron sights only use.

If you change your mind about using an optic, you can get a reproduction mount here: http://home.comcast.net/~yzhu/accumo...sh/Swedish.htm and Weaver K4's are still relatively cheap. Jimro

I just ordered one of these against my better judgment and I am waiting for them to ship it which they said would take a few weeks.
If you could post some detailed pictures of yours I would really appreciate it. Also hows it shoot and did it come with the base still attached to the receiver? |

it does come with the base installed but it does not come with the rail or scope so you'll have to shop around, acording to samco, any old mauser sniper rail/repro will work but looking at the accumounts the swede looks completely different.
as for how it shoots, I truthfully haven't spent that much trigger time with it. I loaded up some match ammo with the brass demilled and loaned it to a friend for a CMP match. he took 3rd place so it's not bad at all in the right hands.

no, I didn't even pay for the Mauser Oberndorf model. I have gotten so many piles of junk online that were advertized as much nicer than what samco does and I didnt want to end up paying extra for what could be another pile of junk. I'm glad that samco undersells a lot of their products, I just wish everyone online did that so there was never disappointment.
