my new .45 carbide die
My friend just gave me a 3 set RCBS carbide die that his g-pa gave to him. Looks brand new. I cleaned it anyway. So is the only difference is I don't use lube on the cases? Any other tips or things I need to be aware of with the carbides? Will be using it for my .45ACP. Thanks.

No lube. Just set 'em up and use 'em.

Careful. With steel dies (at least my Speers) you screw the sizing die down til it touches the raised shell holder, than lower the arm and screw it down another 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Don't do that with carbide dies. In fact, back off a touch. No give in the carbide, and you can break them. And right, no lube.

Only the sizing die is carbide steel, the rest are likely the same as what you already have.

Actually the only difference is a carbide sizing ring inserted into the bottom of the sizing die.
