Is this Garand a Good Deal?
I am looking for a Garand and don't know much about them. For those that have knowledge regarding this great firearm, could you help me out and let me know if this is a decent gun to get.

I don't know what the price was on it when you last looked, I looked and it was 630.00 For that money, you could order a service grade from CMP if you qualify. (595+ shipping)

Thanks Roklok. I was thinking about that. I guess the CMP service grades are in better shape? I also noticed that the gun broker gun had a refinished stock and a different barrel (I am guessing these make it less in demand).

While that rifle did not look like a reweld, there are a lot of them out there and they can be difficult to tell just with pictures. When you get one from CMP, you know it is a good receiver. With few exceptions, the only garands I would consider buying without examining in person would be ones with CMP or DCM documentation.
