Just coinstar'd this bucket of change I've been saving for 4 yrs...
And found out my oatmeal bucket was worth over $600!!! So I took it to my lgs to turn it into a .357 and was debating between a blued ruger gp100 and a nickel finish s&w 686 both 4". They only had one 686 6" and not the mirror finish I woulda payed the extra $$ for so gp100 it was. Looked for the 4" then I saw this Wiley clapp I'm about to figure out how to post pics for the second I bring it home. To be honest I didn't know this version of the gun even existed but after seeing and holding it I had to have it even tho it was for s&w $$ and after some research it was apparently a great buy. This delay thing is killing me though..

Congratulations !
Did that myself a couple years back, but took it to the bank instead, they have an automated coin counter and took the bags of coins and a deposit slip, called me later that day with the amount of my deposit : $1050 or so. No Coinstar fees for me. Not bad for pocket change, paid for nice FN49 in 8mm with it. Last two years, about $0.75 a day, should be enough for a nice .44 Special in there pretty soon. |

686s are stainless and not nickle. They come from the factory with a satin finish but can be polished to almost look like nickle. I'm surprised you found a gun shop that had two .357s in stock. Did you get the blued or the stainless?

They did make the 586 in nickel. Same gun as the 686 only in carbon steel instead of stainless. Came in blue or nickel.

Really? This place had like 15 of them. I'm starting to see gunshops around here slowly come back to life

That's a really handsome Ruger, and you got it for pocket change. Wow, I gotta start saving coins.

Beautiful gun! But just think, if you didn't use coinstar you could have had some extra money for a few boxes of ammo.

I've bought ALOT of stuff from Bullseye over the years. They have continued to have very fair prices and I almost bought the GP100 last week! However I chose not to because I already have a 2.25" SP101 and I was wanting to add a longer barrel .357 like the Blackhawk or 4" GP100. That new matt black model looks sweet!
