Is This A Good Deal On A Sig P226?

The dad of a guy I work with is wanting to sell his 9mm Sig P226. He was given a Glock 21, so, out with the Sig. I think it is just the standard P226 with a rail and comes with two mags but he is including 200 rounds of ammo and a OWB leather holster. He wants $500. Sounds like a really good deal to me. I told him I would take it if his brother didn't want it.

Not bad, assuming good condition and only minor finish wear.

What caliber?

Anything for $500 right now, especially with high cap mags, is a good deal.

Agreed good deal regardless.

In 40/357SIG--good deal.

In 9mm--great deal and ask if he has any other guns he wants to sell

200 rounds of 9mm = $80
Spare (large capacity) magazine = $70

So, you are getting the gun for around $350. If it's in really nice condition, even if you were only getting the gun and one mag, $500 would be a good deal. If the magazine is a 10 rounder, or if the 9mm is steel cased Wolf, you can knock some $$$ off those figures.

FWIW, try to get him to give you the box too, if he still has it!!!

It does have the factory case. I just hope his brother passes on it. He thinks his brother wants him to give it to him and he said he wasn't going to do that.

I highly doubt his son will pass on that -___-

However, if he does. Promise me (us) that you'll take that steal / deal?

It's beyond me why people spend hundreds of dollars on paper and styrofoam boxes for Colt Pythons, but they do. Guns with boxes are always going to fetch a little more money.

PS - there's a Sig P226 case selling on Ebay for $26 with 2 bidders and time left in the auction.

And doesn't it feel good when you buy a used car to have it's original papers and manual? Same concept. If he can obtain it, why not.

It's beyond me why someone wouldn't want it.

I second Skans.

Well, the too good to be true deals generally don't come my way and this one turned out to be no different. The sellers brother decided he wants it. Not sure why he put it out there when he knew he had to ask his brother first.

I'd like the option of shooting it first before committing to the (what sounds like a great deal) purchase.

It's a SIG 226. Why the hesitation? Lol I think for that price he should leap for it.
