Supressing an older model rifle

I have an older model bolt action savage .243 and would like to put a supressor on it at some point in the future for hog hunting. Outside of the licensing stuff what will I need to do to the gun to make it compatable?

Have the barrel threaded by someone who does suppressor grade barrel threading. (NOT someone at the auto shop who has a hand threading tool.) Tornado Tech, Aquila Firearms, and Adco Firearms are 3 places I can think of off the top of my head.

You will want to go with a .308 sized silencer, std threads for that are 9/16X24 and more common 5/8X24 measure the diameter of your barrel and see if you have enough oversize for a decent shoulder. Your paperwork is going to take 5 months so get that going first and fix up your rifle so it is ready in the wait time.
