Uberti "target" 1858s

I'm thinking of getting one of these but all I can seem to find online is a stainless version.

Does Uberti currently offer a 44. cal 1858 with 8" barrel in blued steel with target sights?

I'm not sure that a target 1858 revolver in any finish is in Uberti's current line.

Thanks Starbuck but I've seen those in person at Cabela's. They're Piettas

DGW offers Uberti 1858s in stainless also - but I'm looking for a blued Uberti target model.

Walker and 49 are Uberti.

Just curious here. I know r/d conversion cylinders are made for steel frames instead of brass. But the 1858 45 conversion also fits in the 1858 Texas brass pretty good. Since it does have a top strap making it a bit stronger than open frames, is this cylinder still unsafe to shoot in this model?

The best advice that I can offer is that I wouldn't do it.

Are you trying to get around regestration, or felon in possesion?
Either way, once that conversion cylinder is in the frame, the Feds can book you on several related charges OR laws that will soon be on the books, They have a billion Lawyers working on every angle (yanked from Fed drug prosecutions)

Hardy it will still beat it to death in a very short time. After just a few rounds you will see the cylinder ratchet starting to leave impressions in the frame.

Kenno, the conversion cylinders are legal to own and use, you just can't sell the gun with it installed. Get your facts straight before you start spreading B.S.

If you can believe the UbertiUSA site, the only target model available in a Remington 1858 configuration is their target carbine. The Italian site for A.Uberti S.p.a. lists a target revolver; but, as you speculated, it's shown only in stainless.

Cabelas lists a blued Pietta 1858 Remington Target pistol for $259.99 which includes the starter kit. Could not find one listed without the stater kit. Here is the url http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/brows...?WTz_stype=GNP With Pietta's good quality nowadays and Cabelas free shipping it sounds like a good buy on a pistol you want.

Regarding the Cabela's deal

I would skip the shooting kit. Just buy the pistol at $219.

I think I'll hold out to see if an Uberti shows up on an auction site.

I've got a Uberti 1858 Remington revolving rifle coming and I'd like to be able to swap the cylinders with the pistol. ...I don't suppose Pietta cylinders fit Ubertis, do they?

Nope, different length.

It's not recommended. The brass is softer and you would probably see peening on the recoil shield. I suppose you could reload some very light BP loads and get away with it in the full Remington frame.
