Probably my AR. Not because I believe it is the best weapon out there. But, I do believe it is the platform I am most capable with after being in the military for 21 years.

Remington 870 Express Super Magnum 12ga. When my wife and I were first married 20yrs. ago in august that was the first gun I got. It was a Christmas present from her. Its capable of killing anything I would likely encounter and its an almost perfect home defense weapon as well. It covers all the bases good enough.

12 Gauge pump with 3 barrels, one rifled for use with sabots (big game), one with choke tube options (fowl) and one 18'' for defensive purposes. a couple of different stocks thrown into the mix and its more like several guns than just one.

For me it would be my Marlin 1894 in 357 magnum. Since I reload for it I can make it work for deer, small game and as a self defense weapon. Being able to add a shotgun and I would be set for all I would really need. But one or two guns only? Who would want that?

It depends on where I'm living. Around here it would be a tough choice between a K frame 357 with a 4 inch barrel (CC, targets, home defense, and deer hunting).
The only thing that prevents me from picking a 12ga pump is the fact that it can't be concealed. Very tough choice. |

For a long time all I could afford was one gun, and it was a 12 gauge Winchester 1200 pump shotgun. The last I heard it still is the most powerful small arm in the world. And its efficacy is waaay under-rated.
If portability is necessary then a Glock 19.

Hmm. The Raging Judge Magnum. You get a shotgun, old cowboy cartridges, and high power modern cartridges in one gun! Plus, I'd imagine you could put a stock and longer barrel on it and have a weird, but functional .454 rifle!

Since it's just one gun, it has to be a rifle, which is effective both close and at distance. It should be semiauto for CQB with multiple targets. Probably an AR or AK. One has a slight edge for accuracy and lightweight ammo, the other, reliability and lower maintainance.

If I could only have one...I'd be living in Iraq where each person can only own one, and it would be an AK 47.
