AIM Surplus has M44s

AIM Surplus has another batch of Mosin Nagant M44s in case anyone's interested. They're kinda proud of them though ($200). Remember when they were 1/4 of that price?

I payed about $100 for my M44, less for my M38 and 91/30. The 91/30 rifles are still cheap though. AIM's M44 prices are about $40 less than what I payed for my Fin M39. Maybe we are finally seeing Mosin prices starting to go up.

Overpriced IMO (but then the laminated version is already sold out). Nothing special about the M44 as far as shoot-ability. Rather spend another $50 and get a Finnish M39.......MUCH better Mosin.

I know AIM hasn't had any for the last 1-2 years, so maybe this is the "new" price?

Mosin's are definitely going up in price.

If its not a 91/30 then expect to pay ~150ish.

This is an observation based on my local market(south florida) and my statewide gun classifieds(pretty popular/1000+ guns listed at a time).

If you pay under 100 around here for a carbine mosin(M38/M44) then you got a deal.

Pretty much everyone knows you can get a $80 91/30 from J&G though.

Are they being imported now, or did a distributor decide to sell a hidden batch after letting them appreciate in value?

That's the way the military surplus rifle game is played, it seems. I paid $89 for my M44 and would also have a hard time paying much more than that, but it's easy for me to say that because I already have one, for someone who doesn't, the fact of the matter is that once the supply runs dry, latecomers to the game have no choice but to pay whatever the price balloons to if they want one at all. The SKS is a classic example, they too once sold for $70-$80 but these days a ton of people would jump at a good SKS (particularly a Russian one, for example) if it were selling for $150, with the only people sneering at paying such a price being the few that already bought them when prices were much lower. The days of the $80 M44 are over.

I got my M44 fromn Pat some time ago now. I would agree that $200 for them now is dumb, just spend a little more for a Finn.

My first M44 cost me $65 only because it it is Polish.
My second Hungarian I talked the guy down to $45.
There is no way I would spend $200 for one even if it was brand new.

Supply and demand, fellas. At some point, the Ukraine will run out of 91/30s and the prices will go up, so let that be a lesson.

M44's have been drying up for a while, and hard to get compared to the 91/30
so I'm not surprized to see a price increase.

Beside rare, what else M44 is over 91/30 while 91/30 is still around for $70? I would think 91/30 would be more pleasant and more accurate to shoot.

THE 91 30 is nicer to shoot but the m44 is more popular because its compact and handy.
