average condition run from $250-400.
rare examples run around $600. stay away from the 8x57mm models. they were last ditch effort conversions by Nazi Germany to outfit their troops and were prone to catastrophic failures.

While I'm not up on current prices (it wasn't long ago you could find fairly nice specimens for $100 or less), the 6.5x52 models always seemed to bring higher prices than 7.35x51 models. This is likely due to the fact that while still uncommon, 6.5x52 ammo is much more common than 7.35x51 ammo.

IMHO, any Carcano over $220, would have to be an excellent specimen. I agree rare ones may be worth more. They are common at gunshows, at least in my area and in TX. I picked up a 7.35 in as issued condition with the bayonet & sling for $175. That was 1 year ago. It has turned out to be an excellent shooter.
I have seen Carcanos list for much more on the auction sites, but they have been on the auction site for a long time. |
