45acp with 200gr TMJ flatnose data needed
I have 1000 45acp 200 gr bullets that are TMJ and flatnose with a shape like the Speer Lawman bullet. I cant seem to find reloading data for this bullet with Hodgdon Universal (not Clays Universal). I got my Lyman 49th edition today but the only 200 grain bullet they list is a JHP and not with Universal. Does anyone have info for this combo? Thank you

I use the lead loading data.
200 GR. CAST LSWC Hodgdon Universal .451" 1.225" 5.8 889 13,900 CUP 6.3 962 16,800 CUP 200 GR. SPR JHP Hodgdon Universal .451" 1.155" 5.8 889 15,100 CUP 6.2 949 17,200 CUP See how close thes 2 are. Now they are not the bullet you listed but pretty darn close. Between the two you should start at 5.8 do about 10 test loads. Go to 6,9 and do 10 tests loads. Go to the range, chorno the loads and set your load for about 900 FPS MV and you should be a happy camper. Best part is you can tweak loads to fit what you want. |

I'd probably just load 5.9 to 6.0gr and call it good.
