Removing rifle sights

ive got a winchester 1300 with rifle sights. Ive installed a scope on it and would like to remove the sights and bases from the barrel. How are the bases attached to the barrel?

I'm not a 100 percent sure on this but I believe they are silver soldered on.
You would have to heat them up with a torch to break the solder loose then clean up the residual solder from the barrel all of which will require refinishing the barrel.
The heat will discolor the blueing and there will not be any blueing under the sights themselves.
