I still haven't heard back from IMR about the differences between the older RTL hull and the new STS/Premier hull. I have several hundred of the RTL shells and I'm all set on the shot loads for them but I wanted to try the Lee slug loads and don't want to try and improve my looks; that's why I'm trying to get the info. I use the Fed. Gold Medal hull for my heavy shot loads right now and they are doing just fine. I loaded some with the slug data, and they shoot OK but the accuracy is a little disappointing as the slug only mics at .675. I wish Lee would make a Foster slug mould along the design of the Key Drive mould, but they haven't yet. Guess that is on the wish list. Hope your loads work for you. Enjoy. CB.

I just got a reply from IMR about the two RP hulls; "these two hulls are interchangeable". SOOOOO your loads that you assembled are OK if you loaded them with data for the STS hull. Beautiful! I have a BUNCH of Premier hulls, and I can use the data I have. Hope this helps. CB.

Dangit I already picked out the crimps and dis-assembled those shells! Ah well it was just seven of them. I have a couple hundred more of those hulls and I did find a single Rem hull marked Premier and other than the Premier hull being high brass, they are identical. So I'll load some more of them tonight.
So the dull green rem hulls are unibody SP? I have some of them too and they are ribbed instead of smooth, same thing with the (huge) pile of black ones I have. Thats good info. I almost threw all of those out. |

Yeah, those high brass SP hulls are good, too. I use them for 11/4 oz loads. I gave you the load I use in another post. They hold up really well, too. I have about 300 of them loaded. Hit like the hammer of Thor they do. I couldn't find that infernal roll crimp die, and believe me I LOOKED! I must have put it in a box of S*** and stored or tossed it by mistake. Burns me up. I just cast about 300 Lyman Foster slugs this PM, and I wanted to try a couple of loads in the Lyman book; now I have to buy another. Ah, well. Hope this helps. Enjoy. CB.
